Our thoughts and prayers are with you Judy and Tina!

Many of you have asked how Judy and Tina's family are doing with the passing away of their father this week. The family has had a lot of gatherings to plan "Dad's" funeral. They have also enjoyed family gatherings focused on feasting and good memories. The funeral will be Saturday Feb. 18th at 1:00. The location will be at the parent's church in Tigard (address to follow.) There also will be a Rosary the night before.

The picture: Toni Puckett "took" Judy's door wreath and re-did it (and returned it) with wonderful fresh flowers! Good thing Judy didn't call the cops when she saw it missing!

Hi ladies!  I wanted to let you know that when I invited all to the chapel to pray the rosary for priests in Dec., I meant to do that once a month.  Jan went by too fast!  I am going to do it again tomorow after bible study (well, around 11:50ish, whenever we get over there), the Mysteries of Light.  The meditations are so beautiful & I hope you can join me!  There is a club called the Serra Club that is a ministry to support priests & seminarians that I am going to attend a meeting Feb. 15th after bible study (a lunch) if anyone wants to join me.

What a beautiful lunch today!  I wanted to share a prayer we didn't have time to read:

"Lord, please help me to give gifts that will glorify You this year.  Gifts of joy and love, presents that will fill someone's heart & gifts that will remain forever.  Lord, empower me to give a forever gift to someone who is in need of it.  A gift they can take to heaven with them:  a bit of wisdom that comes from You, a word that gives life and encouragement, a smile, a hug, a prayer.   Gifts of hope & healing like Jesus gave - gifts of compassion and love that will help someone; maybe a gift of forgiveness, patience, understanding.  Lord, only You can breathe Your Holy Spirit into me to help me be the gift You want me to be for others this Christmas and New Year.  Amen.

Thank You everyone for the toys you donated to our November toy drive!  We filled that huge box and SSrgt. Johnny on behalf of the Toys For Tots program, was so appreciative and grateful of our efforts! Your donations will make a lot of kids very happy this Christmas!

I had to post a little picture from Halloween past!
PS: Thank you Elisabeth

Hi Ladies,

I'll be bringing fresh frozen (and free!) packages of ground venison to Bible Study next Wednesday for anyone who would like some. It makes great chili!

The staff at The Downtown Chapel were thrilled with the 22 large
bags containing MEN'S clothing that was donated from Resurrection Parish Women's
Bible Study. They repeated over and over what a need they have for men's
clothing. THANK YOU!

I had some women interested in having a copy of meditations for "Rosary for a Fallen Away Child" (ie children who have left the faith).  I can't send out the link successfully for some reason but if you google "rosary for a fallen away child", the very first site should say "Glorious Mysteries".  Click on that one & open up the document.  It's not just the glorious mysteries, but there are 2 pages & the 2nd page has the rest of the mysteries.  It's a beautiful rosary to say even if your child isn't "fallen".....you can say it for the rest of the "children"!

Now's the perfect time to go through your husband/father/brother/son's closet to find clothes they don't wear anymore and bring them into Bible Study to donate to the Downtown Chapel!

Thank you all for the beautiful card and well wishes. I am on the mend from my back surgery and doing really well. I'm looking forward to seeing you all at Bible Study in the Fall! Take care.
