Living Our Faith, Serving Our Community

Faith Formation Center: Plan B Pledge Form

In 2008, our faith community began a journey that would enable us to pay off our existing church loan and expand our facilities to accommodate the growing number of people and ministries we support. We set out on an ambitious plan to raise $5.5 million to eliminate our church debt and begin the construction of a new Faith Formation Center. Unfortunately, the impact of the severe and lengthy economic recession prevented us from reaching our full campaign goal. In the meantime our community has continued to grow while the increasing number of ministries and faith development opportunities have been putting additional pressure on our existing facilities.

The Capital Campaign Committee along with the Parish Council have reviewed the original Faith Formation Plan and have modified it to reduce the scope of the project and the funds necessary to build the facility. With a new facility budget of $2.3 million, the goal of a new Faith Formation Center is within our grasp.

Pledges initially raised in the first campaign have been applied to first part of the campaign goal: elimination of the church debt. This leaves a surplus of nearly $400,000 to apply to the Plan B facility.

We are asking all parishioners who pledged to the initial phase of the campaign to extend their pledges three more years. We have already received pledge extensions amounting to $550,000 as of October 2010 toward the $2.3 million goal. For those parish families who have not yet made a pledge to the campaign, we have an additional incentive to do so. For every dollar of new pledges made to the capital campaign, we have anonymous parishioner who has committed to match each of these new dollars up to $474,000.

With the funds left over from the initial phase, the pledge extensions, new pledges and the matching funds, the goal of building our Faith Formation Center is within our grasp. As generations of Catholics have done for hundreds of years, please come forward and share your gifts that God has provided you.

Resurrection Catholic Parish began in 1974 with 200 households. Today the parish serves nearly 1,100 families and continues on a path of rapid growth. The Faith Formation will more efficiently serve the approximately 350 students enrolled in our religious education programs.

Appropriate accommodations for our youth ministry and recreational activities will be one key factor in establishing a dynamic program that, in turn, will be critical to the development and nurturing of our future leaders and members in a vibrant Catholic faith community.

Our growth includes new ministries and staff who will also be better served with new offices, a youth center and additional class/meeting rooms. We want to continue our growth and outreach to the community and to be able to serve potentially 2000 families in the near future.

The Faith Formation Center will:

  • Provide necessary class and meeting rooms for ministries, programs and parish staff.
  • Consolidate new ministries and staff in one facility.
  • Be directly adjacent to the Church.
  • Benefit the entire parish community.
  • Provide greater access for existing parking and other parish buildings.
